Thanks to a 4-1 start to its season, the Dolores High School volleyball team is climbing the state Class 2A rankings.

In the www.maxpreps.com poll on Sept. 12, the Lady Bears were ranked No. 5 in Class 2A and 36th overall in Colorado.

Maxpreps rankings are computer-generated and take into account a variety of factors, including wins, losses and strength of schedule. Dolores is unranked in the www.chsaanow.com poll, which is based on votes by coaches and reporters in Colorado.
