AN IMPRESSIVE amount of snow fell over the weekend about five miles up the West Fork of the Dolores River. The large amount of snow also prompted the Dolores School District to cancel class Monday, the students first snow day of the year.
When all is said and done, the upper reaches of Hermosa Creek, north of Durango, will have the largest continuous stretch of native Colorado River cutthroat trout in the state.
